FAQ
What is the cost of the program?
The initial cost of the program is $150. (Please contact to inquire about corporate discounts)
This cost covers the initial consult, your periodized health plan, service budget, and quarterly follow-ups. There may be additional costs for allied health services (e.g., massage therapy, physiotherapy…). However, if you have access to a health benefits package or health spending account, your Health Advisor can help you lower or eliminate these additional costs.
What is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist?
The Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) designation is a post-graduate certification that is recognized to be the Canadian gold-standard in the field of Kinesiology. In order to get this designation, individuals must have completed a university-level education (bachelor’s degree) in a related field of exercise, health and the human body. The role of a CEP is to offer physical activity counselling, assess physical health and fitness, provide physical activity and exercise prescriptions, and offer dietary advice within their scope of knowledge.
How often will I meet with my health advisor?
You will have an initial consultation followed by three quarterly check-ins. Additional consults are available at an extra cost.
How will my health advisor keep me on track?
Your Health Advisor will keep you on track by doing check-ins and quarterly follow-ups. Similar to how a financial advisor would check in to see if you’ve stayed on track with your budget, your Health Advisor will do the same with your health plan and adjust if need be!
Where can I access my treatment plan?
You will receive a PDF of your treatment plan via email after your initial consult. If your plan needs changing throughout the year, your Health Advisor will send you an updated version of the PDF.
If I already see a physiotherapist, massage therapist, or dietitian outside of Pure, do I still need to see a practitioner at Pure?
This isn’t necessary; however, we highly recommend it as it will allow us to provide you with a more collaborative treatment plan. With your consent, our staff can coordinate a cohesive health plan to help you achieve your goals.
What is collaborative healthcare?
Collaborative healthcare is when multiple healthcare providers work together alongside their patients to provide high quality care and improve the patients’ health.
What is a periodized health plan?
It is a progressive plan that outlines the various components of your health plan and is organized on a calendar. The periodized plan takes into consideration the different events within your life (ie. vacation time, periods of high stress, seasonal activities/ sports, competitions/ events), to allow for a shift in focus when necessary, which should ultimately lead to greater success.
Professional athletes follow a periodized plan when training for a major competition or event. For example, their plan prioritizes rest and recovery during times of high stress (mental or physical) and for progression when other factors (ie. injuries, stress, workload) are under control.
