Dr. Saran is locally trained in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of Winnipeg for undergraduate training and at the University of Manitoba for medical school and residency.  After medical school, he completed the Musculoskeletal and Sport Medicine fellowship at Legacy Sport Medicine to then achieve a Diploma of Sport Medicine from the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine (CASEM).

Dr. Saran is owner and founder of Family Medicine and Sport Medicine Centers, Prairie Trail Medical Centre and Prairie Trail at the Oaks. Before starting his own practice, he worked at Legacy Sport Medicine, the Pan Am Minor Injury Clinic, as well as the Sport Manitoba Sport Medicine clinic. He is also a Sport Medicine advisor at WCB as well as an independent medical examiner working with injured workers from MPI, WCB, and other insurance companies.

He is very passionate about his career which he demonstrates by sharing his knowledge and expertise by teaching medical students and residents as well as sport medicine fellows. He believes in a multidisciplinary approach and collaborates with physiotherapists, athletic therapists, kinesiologists and teaches continuing education courses in Manitoba, Canada and internationally.

Dr. Saran strives to provide and expand Sport and Exercise Medicine in Manitoba. He truly believes in helping athletes, workers, and everyday people by promoting an active lifestyle and thus preventing chronic disease and chronic pain. Proper diagnosis, treatment and empowering patients in self-treatment of chronic conditions can dramatically improve treatment outcomes.
