Amy graduated from the University of Ottawa with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics in 2017. In 2018, she became a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP-CEP), then went on to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA-CSCS) in 2019. In addition, Amy is also registered through Exercise Is Medicine Canada as a Level 2 Recognized Exercise Professional (2018). She continues to expand her knowledge and keep up to date with current research in the field of physical activity and exercise science through continuing education credits and self study.
Throughout her years spent studying the impact of physical activity and exercise, Amy’s belief in living an active lifestyle only grew stronger. She is passionate in sharing her knowledge of the positive impact that physical activity and exercise has in the prevention and management of chronic disease. Her experience working with clients to develop the basics of functional movement in the gym and the cultivation of healthier lifestyle habits, has helped Amy to solidify her belief in the power of movement.
Amy’s sense of adventure keeps her active and pursuing new challenges. She enjoys a diverse array of activities and sports including but not limited to, cross-country skiing, cycling, golfing, hiking, running, snowshoeing, snowboarding, volleyball, and yoga.
Amy’s background as a national-level gymnast helped her develop a high level of determination and commitment. Having set and achieved many of her own goals, she is well acquainted with the hard work and focus required to attain excellence. Those who work with Amy can look forward to an individualized program that is both challenging and rewarding. Her motivational and encouraging training style will help you stay focused and driven towards reaching your full potential.
